Portfolio: Fotoshift.com

Fotoshift.com was a photoblog which featured the work of Canadian photographer John Piercy.

John was using a stock template with his photoblog, but wasn't completely satisfied with how it looked or functioned.

Visitors complained of not being able to navigate through the images, as the links for the previous and next photos were not obvious.

John also wanted to add a page that would list the latest comments from his site visitors, as well as the most commented images.

Taking into consideration the concerns he had about the existing layout, I developed a custom template for him that would show off his photography in its best light, and make navigating the site much easier. I also found addons for the photoblog software he uses that resolved his other issues, and included those in the new template package.

John was so pleased that he did a write-up on his blog to formally announce the redesign:

fotoshift.com redesigned - September 18th, 2007

Fotoshift.com has a new look and new design thanks to a fellow photographer and designer Kim Parsell.

Kim has been a regular viewer of Fotoshift for a while now. Make sure you visit and comment on Kim's photography at her own photoblog at www.kpimages.net.

I've already been receiving very positive feedback from the new design. Kim has incorporated many new features, such as Most Commented Images and Latest Comments. Fotoshift is now much easier to navigate and archived images are grouped in categories and months.

You can now subscribe to Fotoshift through email.

If you are visiting Fotoshift.com you can also leave a comment online.

Kim did an amazing job on my photoblog. THANKS KIM!

In April 2008, John decided to close his photoblog for personal reasons.
